Gianna's Block Petite Sirah 2016
Named after the newest generation of Foppiano's, Gianna’s block is one of our oldest head trained vineyards. In the old California viniculture tradition, there are a few interplanted Zinfandel and Carignane among the Petite Sirah vines. All are harvested and fermented together. Gianna’s Block always yields incredible fruit flavors, color and structure. This wine expresses complex aromas of sage, lavender, and blackberry jam followed by subtle notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Dark fruit and perfectly composed oak accentuate the blueberry and plum flavors. The wine finishes with more chocolate and dark roast espresso. 92 pts - James Suckling

Foppiano Vineyards
Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is one of Sonoma County’s oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. Our family has supplied northern California with wine for over a century, surviving Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. Five generations later we believe that through the strength of our family, community and a commitment to quality, our traditions can be maintained and thrive. We’re proud to be one of the founding members of the Russian River Valley AVA, and continue to enjoy the fruits of our hardworking Italian heritage.
