River's Edge Pinot Noir 2017
Harvested exclusively from the block that is closest to the Russian River. Oriented East to West, the vine rows sit on ancient river beds. This gravely loam soil, as well as the adjacency to the Russian River, makes for the perfect setting to grow world class, terroir driven Pinot Noir. We hand harvest these rows, picking and choosing the best-looking fruit for this specific wine. Scents of dark cherry and crushed plum give way to notes of strawberry rhubarb pie. The flavor profile ranges from dark fruit, to bright raspberry, to mildly toasted French oak and plenty of silky texture. The wine continues with sweet hints of sage and earth, with a long textural finish indicating a pleasant degree of age-ability.

Foppiano Vineyards
Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is one of Sonoma County’s oldest continually-operated, family-owned wineries. Our family has supplied northern California with wine for over a century, surviving Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. Five generations later we believe that through the strength of our family, community and a commitment to quality, our traditions can be maintained and thrive. We’re proud to be one of the founding members of the Russian River Valley AVA, and continue to enjoy the fruits of our hardworking Italian heritage.
