Paradise Ridge Winery

Russian River Valley

Our Story

About Paradise Ridge Winery - In 1961 when Walter Byck married Marijke Hoenselaars in Holland, little did the newlyweds know what their future would hold. Yet their courage and passion would lead them to discover and build a wine estate in the heart of the world’s finest grape-growing region, the Russian River Valley.

Walter and Marijke moved to Santa Rosa in 1965, with two of their five children already in tow. They soon realized they had found a haven to raise their growing family. In 1978, after more than a year of searching for family property, Walter came home and said, “Marijke, children, I have seen Paradise!” Thereafter, the 155 acres overlooking the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, California became known as Paradise Ranch.

Hands down one of the best winery's to visit in Sonoma County! My first go to winery when wine tasting. Where to start? The breathtaking views, the beautiful venue, the incredible walk around art exhibition, the wine club, the summer sunset events (which includes incredible local musicians and food venders) or perhaps it's the wine? Everything about this winery is awesome! My favorite go to wine is the Posse, beautiful cab that never disappoints! If you have company coming or perhaps it date day, this is the winery that you'll love! more...

There might not be a winery with a better view in both Napa or Sonoma County! We used wine routes to find this hidden gem and were rewarded with views that seemed to stretch to the coast. We took our wine out to deck and were blown away, we must have been a thousand feet up with 180 degree view to the west, above the birds! Great place to bring a picnic. This HAS to be the closest vineyards and winery to downtown Santa Rosa, there is. Gonna go back with friends. more...
