James Berry 2017
The Vicinage Series of wines here at Torrin allows us to showcase special vineyards farmed by our friends and neighbors. The “James Berry Vineyard” resides in the heart of the Willow Creek District of west Paso Robles. One of the premier vineyards in the area, and the entire state for that matter, this fantastic site consistently produces wines of remarkable depth and intrigue. Coming in at 65% Grenache and 35% for 2017, the wine emphasizes the beautiful floral notes, red fruits, and hints of dried herbs we’ve come to expect from our unique Grenache block. The addition of the Syrah provides savory undertones and layers of darker fruit. While the wine is powerful and persistent in its texture and length, upon introduction, it is highlighted by surprising grace and elegance. This makes for a wonderfully complex wine that will impress young and continue to develop in the cellar for over a decade.
