Our Story

Located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, Healdsburg we specialize in handcrafted small-lot wines that are balanced, expressive, and reflective of their terroir. Over the past 25 years, we have earned a reputation for consistency, showcasing some of Sonoma County's finest wines. Executive Winemaker Ben Papapietro has meticulously crafted a line of world-class Pinot Noirs, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Rosé of Pinot Noir from top Sonoma County vineyards.

Along with our continuing passion for winemaking, our mission is to assist you in enjoying one of life’s greatest pleasures—the union of good food, good wine and good friends.

Meet the Winemaker

Ben Papapietro, Co-Owner & Executive Winemaker:

Wine has always been an integral part of Ben's life. As a San Franciscan with Italian roots, wine graced every family meal and gathering. His passion for this heritage began while his grandfather crafted his own red wine blend in the basement, where Ben listened and learned. His journey into the world of wine ignited in his early twenties as he explored global varieties, notably being captivated by 1956 and 1957 Burgundies. This fascination led him to volunteer at a Sonoma County winery specializing in Pinot Noir during the harvest season, where he honed his craft.

During his 37-year career at the San Francisco Newspaper Agency, Ben crossed paths with future partner Bruce Perry, bonding over their shared interests in cooking and wine. This connection laid the foundation for Papapietro Perry, which started in Ben's garage over 40 years ago. Their shared vision for the winery always being "authentic and humble, an extension of their home and hospitality.”
