Occidental Road Cellars began in 2005 with the inspiration to continue a long standing family farming tradition. Richard and Joelle are the 4th generation to farm land that has been in the family since 1910. Joelle's father, the late Vince Pedroia, was the first to plant the vineyards in 1996. For many years he sold his fruit to several prominent Sonoma and Napa County wineries.
It was Richard's love of farming and winemaking that led him to take over vineyard operations and produce his first commercial wine release in 2006 under the Occidental Road Cellars label. Today, Richard continues to manage all viticultural aspects of the vineyard as well as all of the winemaking operations.
